General Rules for Etiquette with Foreigners
涉外禮儀通則

1. One’s manners and bearing, and image should be graceful;
    儀容舉止，形象優雅。
2. Be neither humble nor haughty, but at ease and self possessed;
    不卑不亢，從容得體。
3. Seek commonalities while reserving differences, have reason and integrity;
     求同存異，有理有節。
4. Adapt to others’ customs, respect ethical code;
    入鄉隨俗，尊重禮教。
5. Abide by agreements, adhere to promises;
    信守約定，遵守 承諾。
6. Be enthusiastic in moderation, differentiate between insiders and outsiders;
     熱情適度，內外有別。
7. Be appropriately modest, be affirmed in yourself;
    謙虛適當，肯定自我。
8. Do not ask private questions, respect others’ customs;
    不問隱私，尊重習俗。
9. Ladies first, be gentlemanly;
    女士優先，紳士風度。
10. Seat honored guests on the right, and get along harmoniously.
       以右為尊，和諧相處。


Eight Don’t-Asks When Chatting with Foreign Guests

1. Don’t ask about income or expenses.
    不問收入支出。
2. Don’t ask about age.
    不問年齡大小。
3. Don’t ask about love life or marriage.
    不問戀愛婚姻。
4. Don’t ask about health.
    不問身體健康。
5. Don’t ask about someone’s home or address.
    不問家庭住址。
6. Don’t ask about personal experience.
    不問個人經歷。
7. Don’t ask about religious beliefs or political views.
    不問信仰政見。
8. Don’t ask what someone does.
    不問所忙何事。
